Nicholas Asbury received an Olivier Award in 2009 as part of the Royal Shakespeare Company and later appeared as Jim in the BBC comedy Alma's Not Normal, which won three BAFTA Awards. His television credits include guest roles in The Inbetweeners, Chewing Gum, and Sherlock, among many others. Notable performances include portraying a young Winston Churchill in the BBC drama 37 Days and playing Mr. Angel, the eccentric man in the top hat, in Hugh Laurie's adaptation of Why Didn't They Ask Evans?, opposite Will Poulter and Lucy Boynton. In addition to acting, he won the Michael Meyer Award for his writing and has published two books. He has composed music for multiple theatre productions, performed piano in every five-star hotel in London, which he found extremely dull, and played guitar in various bands, which he very much did not. His more unusual experiences include breathing fire while on five-foot stilts, juggling a chainsaw, and being hanged ten metres above the stage, though not all in the same production.
